outstanding walleye, northern pike and smallmouth bass fishing! Fish pristine lakeshore, undisturbed
by others and explore hundreds of small secluded islands.
You have 5 lakes to choose from and
100's of miles of waterways to find your days catch. For the more adventurous, you can hike into
one of VNP's interior lakes and fish for lake trout, northern pike, largemouth bass, crappie
and muskie.

Starting in September, upland game
hunting is in its prime as ruffed grouse season opens.
Northern Minnesota has
of thousands of acres of public
hunting land with miles of perfect
trails for the novice or expert bird hunter.
Black bear season is also open the first of
September with
white-tail deer
season opening in
November. Fall also
offers some
spectacular fishing days
as the large walleyes begin to
bite. Nothing beats a warm
fall day on Kabetogama to enjoy the excellent fishing action while taking in the

cabins and is the major trailhead linked to over 500 miles of smooth, wooded and
lake groomed trails. With
an average snowfall of over 100" combined with trails
being groomed twice weekly, you are almost guaranteed excellent conditions!
